Personal Care Aides
As stressful as recent times have been, they’ve also highlighted what each of us finds to be most important in our lives. For most of us, this is our family. Having a loved one who has a higher need for assistance at home can be extremely demanding -- seemingly “small,” day-to-day activities, such as bathing or cooking a meal, become much larger tasks, and can be frustrating for those who are needing help.
Fortunately, Macon County has assistance readily available in the form of skilled, professional personal care aides.
What Is a Personal Care Aide?
A personal care aide can provide many different forms of support for your loved one. Commonly mistaken as a service exclusively for the elderly, personal care aides can provide support for those suffering from mental and physical disabilities, cognitive impairment, chronic illness, or recuperating from surgery.
A personal care aide can support their client by providing:
- Meal preparation and feeding (if needed)
- Bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene help
- Range of motion exercises
- Medication reminders
- Toileting and incontinence support
- Companionship
- Ambulation
- Light housekeeping
Our personal care aides are highly trained and rigorously screened in order to assure your loved one’s safety and support. All in-home, personal care aides receive ongoing training from our Registered Nurse Supervisor to ensure our services are exceeding expectations. A more comprehensive list of our screening practices can be found here.
In addition to Macon County, we also service Haywood County, Jackson County, Swain County, Graham County, Clay County, and Cherokee County.
